The two chemicals expand to many times their liquid volume and cure into a rigid, closed-cell layer within seconds, bonding directly to the substrate with no seams and no fasteners anywhere in the field. That closed-cell structure is what makes the foam watertight, because the sealed cells stop water from migrating sideways, keeping it from traveling under a breached membrane seam. Bare foam breaks down fast under our sun, so we spray a reflective silicone or acrylic topcoat over the cured foam, and that coat carries the UV protection and the warranty.
